Sen. Hope Uzodinma, the APC gubernatorial candidate in Imo state, was today dealt a devastating blow in the governorship race as he was almost completely ignored by President Muhammadu Buhari during his visit in Imo for the APC Presidential campaign rally which had in attendance, the party’s National Chairman, Adams Oshiomole; the ministers of Labour and Transport, Chris Ngige and Rotimi Amaechi respectively, and former Senate President, Ken Nnamani amongst others.During the rally held at Heroes Square in Owerri, President Buhari showed his complete support for Governor Rochas Okorocha addressing him as the leader of the Imo people and weighed also in on who has his support for the governorship election by urging Imolites saying: ‘’Don’t allow intra-party to remove your sense of responsibility…. Your vote is your vote, choose whoever you like across party’’This was a clear message to Hope Uzodinma from the President that he is not in support of him, despite being the APC gubernatorial flag bearer. The embattled senator got the final stroke that broke the camel’s back when he was nowhere to be seen around the president during the visit to the Chairman of the Traditional Rulers Council, Eze Samuel Ohiri. President Buhari was rather pictured with the Action Alliance (AA) candidate, Hon. Ugwumba Uche Nwosu as they were seen exchanging pleasantries and even posing for the camera.
