The Benue state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has rejected the result of the Benue south senatorial rerun suspending at least 15 party leaders in the state.
The Benue south senatorial election rerun was won by former senate president, David Mark of the PDP. Following the party’s lose, it has reviewed the conduct of some of its members who compromised for reasons of expediency and has decided to suspend the following persons from the party for anti-party activities.
Those suspended are: Hon Nelson Alapa (National Ex-Officio), Chief Obande Obeya, Hon Sylvester Obeya (Vice Chairman Okpokwu), Hon Adidu Iwo (Vice Chairman Otukpo LG), Hon Paul Adoyi (Fmr Caretaker Chairman, Ogbadibo LG), Hon George Adah (Caretaker Chairman Okpokwu LG), Hon Ode Akoji (APC secretary Otukpo LG), Hon Ada Owoicho (APC vice Chairman Apa LG), Noah D!ckson, Hon Godwin Atta (APC Secretary Apa LG), Hon Ochofije Uji (APC chairman oiji ward, Apa LG), Hon Ochoche Iduh (APC chairman Oba ward, Apa LG), Hon Sulaiman Aledu-Agatu, Hon George Ehigocho (Ward Chairman Edikuni I, Apa LG), Hon Sunday Achigili (Ward chairman Edikuni II).

APC said they remained suspended until they absolve themselves of the misconduct of anti-party activism during the conduct of the elections asking the suspended members holding party positions should handover to the next in rank at their level.
Also, the party said the governor has been advised to drop all those holding political appointments and have been suspended by the party.
APC said the election was marred with is inconsistent with the fact that the cancelled votes of about 29, 000 far exceed the marginal differential of about 12,000 votes between Mark and Onjeh.
The party also alleged that Sen. Mark and the PDP had imported thugs from Niger Delta who terrorized APC supporters including the Deputy Governor.
“The election was indeed and in fact marred by violence,” APC said.
Meanwhile, David Mark has dismissed call by the All Progressive Congress for the just concluded Benue South senatorial rerun to be declared inconclusive.
Senator Mark won with a margin of 12,571, polling 84, 192 votes as Daniel Onjeh of the APC who polled 71, 621 votes. While Mark won in five local government areas, Onjeh won in four.
