No slowing down for Nigerian afropop singer, Wizkid after dominating the African continent in 2016.
Wizkid told BillBoard recently that “what’s important to me is for music to be real, authentic, raw and timeless,” when responding toquestions about his music.
The singer after various international recognitions, has now stepped up his 2016 deal with Sony Music Entertainment by copping another mouthwatering contract with RCA Records –a subsidiary of the former.
Welcoming the superstar into RCA Records, CEO Peter Edge said in his remark; “We are thrilled to welcome WizKid to the RCA Records family. He has become a superstar in the African music scene and will be a game-changer in bringing African music to the world. We are extremely excited to have him as a part of RCA and are eager for the journey ahead.”
Few moments after Wizkid’s new deal was made public, he followed it up with one of his highly anticipated single, ‘Sweet Love’, which was premiered exclusively on Apple Music.
Talking about the new single,Wizkid said it was inspired by mega hit, ‘Ojuelegba.’
“Sweet Love song is about me wanting sweet love and good vibe. I love peaceful vibe with my friends, made it from a freestyle from listening to Ojuelegba,” he said on Apple Music.
He added that ‘Sweet Love’ is a single off his forthcoming mixtape ‘Sounds From The Other Side.’Wizkid further said that the song is “an introduction” to those who don’t
know him yet.
“The visual is made up from content of myliveshows throughout Africa, which will give my fans a real insight and feel of me performing back home,” he said.
