BSU STRIKE UPDATE: LECTURERS VOW TO REMAIN ON STRIKE

Lecturers of Benue State University, Makurdi have vowed to remain on strike. It will be recalled that lecturers under the Umbrella of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) had on March 9 embarked on an indefinite strike as a result of delay in the payment of February salaries.
A senior lecture who spoke under anonymity said the lecturers were resolved to remain on strike until they are paid their outstanding salaries. “We don’t have any problem. Once we receive alert, our chairman will send us text messages and you’ll see us back. Henceforth if we don’t get alert by 2nd of any month, it’s automatic strike.” He said.
He then pleaded that students should understand with the lecturers as everything being done is in their best interest in the long run.
